Over 3,000 athletes for Junior Nationals

Over 3,000 athletes will participate in the 64th Junior National Athletic Championships 2024 from June 7 to 9 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama.  
Meanwhile, after a request from the school authorities, the entry deadline was extended due to bad weather by Sri Lanka Athletic (SLA) until yesterday.   
The Junior National Athletic Championships will also serve as a trial to select the Sri Lanka Team for the World Under-20 Junior Athletic Championships from August 27 to 31 in Lima, Peru.  
The SLA will select the Sri Lankan contingent for the World Under-20 Junior Athletic Championships following the entry standard issued by the IAAF.
