Over 30 teams for Senior Hockey Nationals

Over 30 teams are set to compete at the Men’s and Women’s Senior National Hockey Championships, which will be held from November 9 to 12 at the Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita.  
The draw for the tournament will take place tomorrow (25), with 17 Men’s Teams and 15 Women’s Teams vying for honours.  

Meanwhile, the Junior National Hockey Championships, which were scheduled for the first week of December, have been put off for January 2024 due to the GCE O/L Examination.  
The national pool will be formed after the Senior National Hockey Championships, Sri Lanka Hockey Federation (SLHF) President G. Vishvanathan told the Daily Mirror yesterday.  
Vishvanathan said that according to the 2024 Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) calendar, many Asian regional-level tournaments are scheduled to be held next year in addition to the proposed South Asian Games.
