Pakistan to host 2023 South Asian Games

The 14th South Asian Games (SAG) conducted by the National Olympic Committee of Pakistan will be held in March 2023 in Lahore, Pakistan.

This will be the third occasion that Pakistan will host the event having earlier conducted the Games twice in 1989 and 2004 in Islamabad.

The number of sports disciplines will be decided at the next South Asian Sports Federation Council Meeting.
Sri Lanka finished third at the 2019 SAG in Kathmandu, Nepal with 40 Gold Medals, 83 Silver Medals and 128 Bronze Medals.       

   
Sri Lanka also had the satisfaction of overcoming India for the second time in track and field events with 15 Gold Medals, 12 Silver Medals and eight Bronze Medals.     

Sri Lanka out-medalled India in track and field events for the first time at the 1991 Games in Colombo.
