Peramune and Kumarasinghe come on top

(Daily Mirror) - The 21km half marathon of the All Island School Games conducted by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Nestle Lanka Pvt Ltd under the brand Nestomalt which concluded at Galle saw D.A.D.G. Peramune of Vidyaraja Vidyalaya Ratnapura and W.D.D. Rangadari Kumarasinghe of Sri Devananda Central Welimada coming out on top in the boys and girls categories.

Peramane ended the race with a timing of 1.16.22 while Kumarasinghe ended with a timing of 1.22.36. In the boys category Peramune was followed by S. Keeran of Mulankavil Central Kilinochchi (1.17, 22), E.G. Lasith Pradeep of Ukpitiya Central Uva (1.18.13), E.A. Hasindu Dhananjaya of Bandaranayake Central Veyangoda (1.20.07) and S. Kudhiharsidan of Hindu National School Matale (1.20.32).

In the girls category Kumarasinghe was followed by D.M. Chamila Siriwardena of Senapathi Central Monaragala (1.34.20), and L.P.G Prabodha Imashani of Welimada Central Uva (1.34.48), G.N.N. Gamage of Dumbara Manana MV and H.K. Imasha Rasanjali of Wangiya Kumbura National School (1.36.07).

The Nestomalt 21km Half Marathon saw the participation of over 300 from schools around the island was flagged off opposite the Galle bus stand taking the route towards Thalpe Beach and ending at the Galle International Stadium.
