Personalised copy of CR Centenary book handed over to Indian HC

Presentation of CR&FC Centenary Year Coffee Table Book to Indian High Commissioner His Excellency Gopal Bagalay

Following Ceylonese Rugby & Football club’s (CH&FC) recent release of “Tackling Change” commemorating the club’s centenary year, a personalized copy was handed over by CR and FC President. Ted Muttiah to Gopal Baglay, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka. 


Speaking after the presentation, HE Gopal Baglay observed “Our two countries have centuries old relationships in many facets of life. We share a sport loving community culture. Therefore, a revival of the rugby link presents an exciting new opportunity for expansion of the game in both countries.” 

 
Ted Muttiah said “An Indian women’s rugby team is expected to participate in the CR&FC’s centenary Sevens tournament in April 2023. It is a timely opportunity to revive the rugby links between the two countries.” The shorter version of the game is expected to take place from April 7 to 9, 2023 featuring ten schools’ teams, eight Men’s club teams and six women’s club teams, including two international women’s club teams from India and Thailand.
