Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has given the national cricketers until this morning to sign their tour contracts or face omission for the series against India.

Originally given till 8 p.m. last night, the players were granted an extension till this morning.
The Daily Mirror learns that seven of the younger players who were offered contracts have indicated a willingness to sign their tour contracts ahead of the India series.

The impasse over the tour contracts is a carry on from the disagreement between the national cricketers and SLC over the contentious central contracts that were rejected by the players.

SLC offered 24 national team players annual contracts which are yet to be signed after some of the players indicated their displeasure over the lack of transparency in the grading system used.

The squad that travelled to England also refused to sign their tour contracts, ultimately signing Tour Declaration letters at the eleventh hour before leaving the island.
