Rahula, Matara host Hartley Point Pedro on Saturday

Rahula College, Matara will host Hartley College Point Pedro for the fifth edition of the ‘Battle of the Ends’ annual cricket encounter on Saturday at the Uyanwatta Stadium in Matara.
The ‘Battle of the Ends’ between two schools located in the Northern and Southern tips of the island is played for the Manimaran – Wijesiriwardena Trophy in honour of the two sponsors Ramakrishnan Manimaran  and Lal Wijesiriwardena, both illustrious cricketers of Hartley College and Rahula College who are now domiciled in Australia.


The first match in the series was hosted by Rahula College at the Uyanwatta Stadium in 2017 and Rahula lead the series 4-0. 


The Manimaran – Wijesiriwardena Trophy cricket encounter is jointly organised by the Rahula Old Cricketers Association (ROCA),  Hartlian Sports Club and the Old Boys Association of Hartley College, to foster friendship and goodwill between the two schools.
