Inter-Schools Age Group Relay Meet

Rathnayaka Central College, Walala won the Under-18 Girls’ and Under-20 Girls’ 4X800m titles at the second Sri Lanka Inter-Schools Age Group Ritzbury Relay Championships 2024, began at the Vincent Dias Stadium in Badulla yesterday.  

This meet is conducted by the Ministry of Education and the Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association (SLSAA) and sponsored by CBL Foods International Group.  

Nearly 6,000 athletes from over 150 schools will compete in this meet, which concludes on July 4.   

Rathnayaka Central finished the Under-18 Girls’ 4X800m final with a time of 9:58.4s to clinch the Gold Medal. At the same time, President’s College, Ambagasduwa won the Silver Medal with a time of 10:33.1s and Lyceum, Wattala took the Bronze Medal at 10:56.0s.  

Meanwhile, Rathnayaka Central also won the Under-20 Girls’ 4X800m final with a time of 9:38.5s to win the Gold Medal while Matara Central College won the Silver Medal with a time of 10:16.2s and Holy Cross College, Gampaha won the Bronze Medal with a time of 10:52.9s.
