Ritzbury to sponsor Schools Athletic Relay Carnival for first time

The Schools Relay Carnival 2023 jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Sri Lanka Athletics Association (SLAA) will take place from June 24 to 26 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex Diyagama, and will be sponsored for the first time by CBL Foods International (Pvt) Ltd.

Ritzbury, the brand under which CBL Foods will sponsor the meet, has been sponsoring the senior and junior Sir John Tarbat Athletics championships, considered two of the most important athletics meets in Sri Lanka, but this will be the first time they will sponsor the Relay Carnival.

Applications for the meets close on May 27. There are five age groups in the Relay Carnival namely U-12,U-14, U-16, U-18 and U-20 boys and girls.

According to the 2023 tournament calendar prepared by SLSAA, the Ministry of Education has approved to hold the 91st Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletics Championship from September 13-16 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo and the 52nd Junior Tarbat Athletic Championship on November 3-5 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex.  (SP)
