Royal College, Colombo and Bishop’s College won the Boys’ and Girls’ titles respectively at the Under-15 Invitation Schools Water Polo RCUAC Challenge Shield 2024 held at the Royal College Swimming Pool.  

Over 20 teams from Colombo and its suburbs participated in this meet, which was conducted by the Royal College Union Aquatic Club (RCUAC).   

The meet was conducted under four different age groups – Under-9, Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 for Boys’ and Girls’.  

Royal beat S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia 14-5 in the Boys’ Tournament final while Bishop’s College beat Visakha Vidyalaya 14-7 in the Girls’ Tournament final.  

Suleiman Shihar of Royal and Sinali Rathnayake of Bishop’s won the Best Player Award in the Boys’ and Girls’ Championship respectively.  
Meanwhile, Royal won two titles – Under-13 and Under-15 events while Visakha also won two titles – Under-9 and Under-13 championships.

Under-9 Boys’: Nalanda, Colombo. Runners-up: Royal, Colombo (Final score 14-4).   
Under-9 Girls’: Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo. Runners-up: Musaeus ‘A’. Third place: Musaeus ‘B’ (round-robbin basis).   
Under-11 Boys’: Nalanda, Colombo. Runners-up: Royal, Colombo (Final score 10-9). Third place: S. Thomas’, Mount Lavinia.   
Under-11 Girls’: Ladies’ College. Runners-up: Bishop’s College (Final score 14-4). Third place: Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo.   
Under-13 Boys’: Royal, Colombo. Runners-up: S. Thomas’, Mount Lavinia (Final score 20-4) round-robin basis.   
Under-13 Girls’: Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo. Runners-up: Ladies’ College (round-robin basis).   
Under-15 Boys’: Royal, Colombo. Runners-up: S. Thomas’, Mount Lavinia (Final score 14-5). Third place: Thurstan.Colombo   
Under-15 Girls’: Bishop’s College. Runners-up: Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo (Final score 14-7).
