S. Thomas’, Bishop’s clinch novices swimming titles

S.Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia Won Sri Lanka School Novices Championship after 16 years

S. Thomas’ College and Bishop’s College emerged Boys’ and Girls’ overall champions respectively at the 14th Milo All-Island Sri Lanka Schools Age Group Novices Aquatic and Diving Championships, held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex in Colombo yesterday.


The Thomians took the Boys’ overall championship title with a tally of 103 points while Bishop’s College finished on top of the Girls’ event with a total of 79 points.


Meanwhile, S. Thomas’ with 67 points and Bishop’s College with 30 points also went on to clinch the Boys’ and Girls’ diving championship respectively.     

 
St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya finished runners-up in the Boys’ championship with a total of 88 points followed by Lyceum, Nugegoda (75.5 points) and Royal College (64). 


More than 2,000 competitors participated in this championship, which was conducted in six age groups, ranging from Under-11 to Under-20 for both Girls’ and Boys’.
