S. Thomas’ College, thanks to half tons from Mahith Perera, Senadhi Bulankulame and Romesh Mendis and an impressive match bag of 7 for 4 by Akash Fernando, demolished the hapless S de S. Jayasinghe MMV Dehiwala by a mammoth 366 runs in the Under 17 inter-school cricket match played at Mt Lavinia.
S. Thomas’ batting first made an imposing score of 400 for 7 and Akash’s seven-wicket haul sent their opponents reeling for a low score of just 34 runs.
In other matches Maris Stella Negombo, Nalanda College, Royal College Colombo, P de S. Kularatne MV Ambalangoda, St. John’s College Jaffna, Thurstan College and Christ King College Ja-ela also recorded wins.
