S. Thomas’ thrash Sri Sumangala 57-18

S. Thomas’ College powered their way to an emphatic 57-18 victory over Sri Sumangala College, Kandy, in their Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament match played at Mount Lavinia yesterday.

The Thomians completely dominated the game from the kick-off and collected their points from nine tries and six conversions after having built up a commanding 38-7 lead at halftime.

Newcomers Sri Sumangala had another tough outing as they put up a determined effort to restrict the home side and responded with two tries, one conversion, and two penalties.

This was also the fourth successive win for S. Thomas’ this season, having earlier defeated St. Anthony’s College (24-17), Science College (30-26), and D. S. Senanayake College (29-15), respectively.
