SABA Championship 2021 Sri Lanka face Bangladesh in curtain-raiser today

Defending champions Sri Lanka will take on hosts Bangladesh in the curtain-raiser match of the Eighth South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Tournament at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka today.
India and the Maldives are the other two teams participating in this tournament, which will be conducted on a round-robin basis, with the two top teams qualifying to play in the final encounter on November 20. India have emerged champions on five occasions in this tournament, which was inaugurated in 2002, while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have won the title once each. The Sri Lanka Basketball Team will be captained by Clinton Thevakumar.
The Sri Lanka Team: Clinton Thevakumar (Captain), Rukshan Atapattu (Vice-Captain), Gayan de Cross, Timothy Nithusan, Praneeth Udumalage, Chanuka Fernando, Arnold Thevakumar, Udayanga Perera, Dasun Mendis, Pawan Gamage, Nimesh Fernando and Asanka Rajakaruna.
