SL Air Force felicitate outstanding sports personalities

Air Force Rugby head Coach Shamly Nawas honoured

Sri Lanka Air Force felicitated their top sports personalities at their Head Quarters with Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana gracing the occasion in the capacity of President Air Force Sports Council (AFSC) and President Defence Services Sports Board (DSSB).   
Sportsmen in the disciplines of rugby, wrestling, boxing, judo, carom, beach volleyball, squash, taekwondo and cycling were felicitated during the ceremony.   
The personnel from these sports have performed outstandingly at national and international sports competitions.   

Air Force Rugby Head Coach Shamly Nawaz, Assistant Coach Dilan Soyza, Boxing Coach Corp M. D. B. Ariyaratna, Wrestling Women’s Team Coach Corp. K. T. W. Fernando and Beach Volleyball Coach B.G. S. Gunasinghe were some of the top personalities who were felicitated.   
Chairman of Volleyball Air Vice Marshal Nishantha Thilakasinghe and Secretary Group Captain Chrishantha Fernando too were honoured.   
This was due to the success of the 4th CISM Beach Volleyball Championship in 2023.
