SL U-19 takes early lead

Touring Sri Lanka U-19 cricketers defeated Pakistan U-19 cricketers by 51 runs in their first limited over encounter played at the National Bank stadium, Karachi yesterday.
 Sri Lanka took an early 1-0 lead in the five match series.


 Young Sri Lankans batting first totaled 309 in 49.4 overs. Opener P. Perera led the way with a power packed 156 scored off 96 deliveries consisted of 17 boundaries and 6 sixes.
 In reply Pakistan U- 19 were dismissed for 251 off 45.5 overs. S. Hussain and A.Minhas made a fine effort to reach the target with scores of 98 and 84. Opening bowlers G. Sanketh (3/42) and D. Kalupahana (4/32) bowled best for the Lankans. (L.R)
