Sri Lanka secured three medals at the fourth CISM Military World Cadet Games, held in Venezuela.  

The CISM Military World Cadet Games is a prestigious international event organised by the International Military Sports Council (CISM), where Military Cadets from around the world compete in various sports disciplines.  

Cadet Officer Chathurangani from the Army was able to earn notable victory in the Women’s long jump, securing the Gold Medal while cadet Officer Savindi of Air Force distinguished herself by winning two Bronze Medals in the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke competitions.  

This year, the Games saw participation from leading countries, including Russia, China and Venezuela providing a platform for young military athletes to perform their sporting talents and represent their nations.  

A contingent of 10 military Cadets representing the tri-forces of Sri Lanka participated in different sports disciplines at the Games.  

These victories are among the pinnacle achievements in the international military sports arena and upon their return to Sri Lanka, Chathurangani and Savindi were greeted with a warm reception at the Airport by representatives of the Army and Air Force.
