Kabaddi

The kabaddi teams that recorded wins on Monday also suffered defeats yesterday, with the Women’s Team losing to India 12-38 and the Men’s Team being edged 25-29 by Bangladesh.

Weightlifting

Sri Lanka’s weightlifters also failed to impress with Chamari Warnakulasuriya finishing 10th in the Women’s 53kg weight class category with a combined lift of 169kg while Thilanka Viraj Kumara failed to register a lift in the Men’s 62kg weight class category.

Swimming

Meanwhile, Matthew and Kyle Abeysinghe finished 12th and 20th respectively in the Men’s 50m freestyle event.

Matthew recorded a time of 22.88 seconds and Kyle finished with a time of 23.36 seconds, neither of which was good enough for a place in the final eight.

Basketball

The Men’s 3X3 Basketball Team also suffered defeat, going down 14-21 to China and 10-20 to Thailand.

Wushu

Elsewhere, a 0-2 defeat to Nghiem Van of Vietnam in the Men’s Wushu 60kg Sanda event meant Pathum Nuwan missed out on the chance of winning Sri Lanka’s first medal at the games.

Taekwondo

In the taekwondo arena, Ranuri Wickramasinghe lost her +67kg round of 16 clash against Seavmey Sorn of Cambodia while Sheron Fernando lost his +80kg bout against Akshay Kumar of India.

Sajeev de Silva, participating in the Archery Recurve Men's Individual event finished 64th out of 79 competitors.
