SL squads takes wing for 3x3 Asia Cup today

Sri Lanka’s Men’s and Women’s squads for the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2022 will take flight to Singapore today (5) evening, for the five-day long tournament which is to commence tomorrow (6).   
The Sri Lanka Men’s team, led by Chanuka Fernando, will have to compete versus China and Tonga in the preliminary round to make it into the main draw.   


Anjalee Ekanayake’s Women’s team has already earned qualification to the main round and will take on Chinese Taipei and one of the qualifying teams once their matches get underway.   


The Women’s team has two players in Lubna Morseth and Nihari Perera who are also eligible for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, which is to be played among Under-23s.   


Men’s Team: Chanuka Fernando (c), Nimesh Fernando, Pawan Gamage and Dasun Nilantha.   
Women’s Team: Anjalee Ekanayake (c), Benika Thalagala, Lubna Morseth and Nihari Perera.
