SL to field three members at IWF World Cup

The Sri Lanka Weightlifting Federation will field a three-member contingent for the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Cup, which will be held from March 31 to April 11 in Phuket, Thailand.    
The Sri Lanka weightlifting team, comprising two men and one woman, will leave for Thailand on March 29 for this event, which will be conducted by the IWF and Thai Amateur Weightlifting Federation. The International Weightlifting Federation World Cup is also the last qualifying event ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The Sri Lanka team comprises Hansani Gomes (49kg women), Dilanka Isuru Kumara (55kg men), and Indika Dissanayaka (73kg men), with B.R. Wickremasinghe as coach.
Sri Lanka last competed at an Olympic Games weightlifting tournament in 2016, when Commonwealth Games medalist Sudesh Peiris participated at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
