The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) has decided to participate in only two out of five international volleyball tournaments in the year 2022.
This is because of the prevailing foreign currency crisis faced by Sri Lanka at the moment, according to SLVB Secretary A.S. Nalaka.
As a result Sri Lanka will not participate in the Asian Senior Men and Women’s Championship, Asian Under-23 Men’s and Asian Under-19 Girls tournaments, according to the SLVB official.
Following the SLVB Executive Committee decision Sri Lanka will be taking part in the Asian Challenge Cup (women) tournament in Bangkok and Asian Central zone Men’s volleyball tournament in Maldives.
A national pool selection and training has been initiated targeting these two tournaments.
