SLA select Damro Group for Asian Games sponsorship

Sri Lanka Athletic (SLA) has selected Damro Group to provide an amount of five million rupees for the training activities and various needs of the 16 selected athletes for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023.   
Damro Group who took steps to evaluate the skills of the athletes who won three Gold, two Silver and three Bronze (total eight medals) in the 25th Asian Athletic Championship held recently in Thailand, on July (31) decided to award 5.2 million rupees to the athletes who won those medals.
Meanwhile, the MOU signing and contract exchange between Damro and SLA regarding Asian Games sponsorship was done at Marino Beach Hotel between SLA President Major General Palitha Fernando and Damro Group Chief Executive Officer Nalaka Gunathilake.

Here the athletes who won Gold medals were awarded five lakh each and the athletes who won Silver medals and Bronze medals were awarded 250,000 rupees each by Damro Group who award 1.5 million rupees to the 4x400m Men’s Relay team.
Fernando said that Sri Lankan athletes have won 16 medals in three international tournaments so far in 2023 - Asian youth athletic championship, Asian Junior Championship and Asian Senior Championship.
He said that being ranked fourth in the medal table in the 2023 Asian Senior Athletics Championship is also a first in history.
