SLA to field strong team for Asian Youth Meet

Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) has planned to field around 10 to 15 competitors for the 4th Asian Youth Under-18 Athletic Championships, which will be held from October 13 to 16 in Kuwait.   

This event was earlier scheduled for 2021 but had to be postponed due to the pandemic.   

Meanwhile, the Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletic Championship, scheduled for September 13 to 17 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama will serve as the final trial to select the Sri Lankan Squad, SLA Senior Vice-President GLS Perera told the Daily Mirror yesterday.   

In the history of the Asian Youth Athletic Championships, Sri Lanka have won nine medals including one Gold Medal, six Silver Medals and two Bronze Medals.
