The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Colours Awards Ceremony for 2018 to 2021, was held at the Eagle’s Lakeside Banquet and Convention Hall.  

The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Guneratne (Retd) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.   
The Group Captain Roger Weerasinghe Memorial Trophy for the Most Outstanding Upcoming Sports Personality was awarded to W. L. M. Fernando for cycling in the year 2018, R. G. Y. Weerasinghe for football in 2019, B. D. H. Gomes for weightlifting in 2018 and W. K. L. A. Nimali for athletics in 2019.  

Meanwhile, the A. Vartharasa Memorial Trophy for the Most Outstanding Sportsman was awarded to M. L. Kumara for beach volleyball in 2018, R. C. Dharmawardana for judo in 2019.  

  The SLAF Academy China Bay and the SLAF Station Colombo were awarded with the Vernon Rajapaksha Trophy for being the Best Unit in Sports of the year for 2018 and 2019 respectively.  

The Outstanding Sport of the Year was awarded to the Women’s taekwondo team for 2018, Women’s wrestling team for 2019 Men’s taekwondo team for 2018 and Men’s beach volleyball team for 2019.  

Meanwhile, Air Chief Marshal D.C. Perera Memorial Trophy for the Most Dedicated Sports Personality of the year was presented to J. A. S. Kumara (Manager taekwondo) for 2018 and W. A. Appuhamy (Manager Wrestling) for 2019.
