Rain ruined proceedings of the match between SLC Greys and SLC Blues in the SLC Invitational T20 tournament, played in the afternoon session at the Pallekele International Stadium yesterday.

The match was called off when SLC Blues were on 33/1, having faced 3.5 overs in their run chase of 157 runs.
Half tons by Charith Asalanka and Nuwanidu Fernando, who together associated in a valuable 57-run stand for the fourth wicket, saw SLC Greys, invited to take first lease of the wicket, make a challenging score of 156/4.
The result would not affect the SLC Greys, who had already booked the berth to the final, coming into the game. However, the game was crucial for second-placed SLC Blues, who are on six points after playing six matches; winning two, losing two and two matches ending in no results. The Blues, clashing for the second final berth along with SLC Reds, could miss out on a chance to progress if SLC Reds, with five points so far, defeat wooden spoonists SLC Greens in their evening session fixture.
