SLC Invitational T20 Unbeaten SLC Greys, SLC Reds battle for supremacy

The curtains of the SLC Invitational T20 cricket tournament will come down today with a battle for supremacy between unbeaten SLC Greys and SLC Reds scheduled to be played under floodlights at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium today from 7.00 p.m. onwards.

Looking back at the performances of the two teams the scale is in favour of SLC Greys led by Dasun Shanaka who has led from the front to chalk up four wins and remain unbeaten while on the other hand SLC Reds led by Dinesh Chandimal who began the tournament with two successive defeats came back with vengeance to book a berth to the final.

In the previous two matches the SLC Greys sneaked through to a close 16-run win while the second match was abandoned due to bad weather.

SLC Greys possess a strong batting line spearheaded by skipper Shanaka who have in their ranks payers in the caliber of Charith Asalanka, Kamil Mishara, Nuwanidu Fernando, Pulina Tharanga, Minod Bhanuka, Chathuranga de Silva and Lahiru Madusanka.They also possess top notch bowlers who could turn the tide for them in the likes of Nuwan Pradeep, Chathuranga de Silva, Pulina Tharanga, Ashian Daniel and Madusanka to curtail their opponents.

Chandimal has been the backbone for the Reds in their come back as he put in some match winning innings to steer the side and much will be expected from him in this crucial game for them.

Apart from Chandimal they have in their ranks batsmen in the calibre of Oshada Fernando, Avishka Fernando, Asela Gunaratne, allrounder Chamika Karunaratne and Nipun Dhananjaya who all will be expected to chip in with their contributions while the bowling will be in the hands of Akila Dhananjaya, Prabath Jayasuriya and Seekuge Prasanna.
