Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) rescheduled two matches of the Sri Lanka Cricket T20 Invitational League after employees of the hotel the players were staying at tested positive for COVID-19.
The matches, which were originally slated to be played today, have been moved to tomorrow.
“The employees of the hotel, who were identified as Covid Positive during a routine PCR Test carried out on the 17th of August, were not in direct contact with the players and the support staff,” an SLC media release.
“Following the identification, the players and the support staff were shifted to two different hotels as a precautionary measure.”
The two matches were between SLC Greens and SLC Blues in the afternoon, and Greys and SLC Reds in the evening.
“The players and the support staff underwent a PCR Test today and will undergo further testing during the period of the tournament, as per the Covid 19 prevention guidelines,” SLC also said in its media release.
SLC Greys remain on top of the points table, winning all four of their matches, with the Blues and Reds tied on points, ahead of the Greens who are still winless.
