Sri Lanka Cricket will host the much looked  forward to Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament which has now been shifted to UAE  after a decision was taken by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) at a meeting held  recently.
The tournament was originally scheduled to  be held in Sri Lanka from August (27) to September (11) but due to the  prevailing situation in the country concerning the fuel crisis it was shifted  to UAE but Sri Lanka will be the hosting country.

With transport facilities needed to given to  the ten teams that will be participating along with the officials involved  and added to that fuel would be needed for the generators for the floodlights  when the match is in progress which is going to be strenuous.

The Asia Cup is no doubt to be useful for  the teams that would be participating in the forthcoming World Cup scheduled  to be played in October. The Asia Cup tournament will get underway with  qualifying round matches between UAE, Kuwait, Singapore and Hong Kong and the  winner will join the main tournament to contest along with Sri Lanka, India,  Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
