SLTA Hard Court Tennis Nationals Janali and Dinethya face off in Women’s final

The four finalists to qualify to the SLTA Hard Court Tennis Nationals of the Women’s and Men’s Open singles were found after the completion of the semi-final encounters that were played at SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.  

In the women’s category, Janali Manamperi and Dinethya Dharmaratne came out victorious with the identical winning margin of two sets to nil against Saajida Razick and Tuvini de Alwis.
In the men’s category, Kiran Vairavanthan had an easy passage against Gayanga Weerasekera with a two set to nil victory while Apna Perera pulled off a stunning win against the experience Dineshkanthan Thangaraja whom he overcame in a thriller by two sets to one.
The two finals are scheduled to be played tomorrow at the same venue.

Women’s Open– Janali Manamperi beat Saajida Razick 2-0 (6/3, 6/4), Dinethya Dharmaratne beat Tuvini de Alwis 2-0 (6/0, 6/2),   
Men’s Open – Kiran Vairawanathan beat Gayanga Weeraskera 2-0 (6/2, 6/2), Apna Perera beat Dineshkanthan Thangaraja 2-1 (6/2, 3/6, 6/3)
