SLVB target five international Asian Volleyball tournaments this year

The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) has decided that Sri Lanka will participate in five Asian level volleyball tournaments this year.  
According to the calendar released by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), Sri Lanka is eligible to take part in five competitions, according to SLVB Secretary A.S. Nalaka.  
They are the 21st Asian Under-19 Girls Championship in Kazakhstan from July 4 to 11, 14th Asian Under-18 Boys Championship in Iran from August 15 to 22, 21st Asian Under-20 Men’s Championship in Bahrain from August 22 to 29, 3rd AVC Challenge Cup (Women) in China from August 22 to 29 and 3rd AVC Challenge Cup (Men) in Kyrgyzstan from August 28 to September 4.  
The senior national men’s and women’s pool is undergoing training with the participation of 16 men and 16 women. The SLVB will also hold selection trials in future for the respective tournaments.  
Meanwhile, the SLVB hopes to appoint nine coaches for three age group tournaments. That is two men’s head coaches and two men’s assistant coaches in addition to two fitness trainers. A women’s head coach, assistant coach and a fitness trainer will also be appointed. SLVB has called for applications for these positions which should be reach A.S. Nalaka, SLVB Secretary, No. 33, Torrington, Colombo before February 10.
