Sabaragamuwa, Northern and Eastern book semi-final spots in Independence Trophy football

Sabaragamuwa, Northern and Eastern have qualified for the semi-final of the Independence Trophy Provincial League 
Football Tournament.  

Southern and Western are battling for the Semi-final slot. Southern need a win or draw with Eastern to qualify. If Eastern lose, Southern will go through.  
Western needs to win their semi-final league match to advance.  

Four matches in Stage seven are scheduled to be held today and tomorrow.  

Rajarata face Central at Kegalle while Western takes on Northern in Ratnapura today.  
Tomorrow, Southern face Eastern at Kegalle while Sabaragamuwa take on Uva at Ratnapura.   
The preliminary round will conclude after this match.  

The semi-finals will be played on a home and away basis on February 25 and 26 and March 1 and 2.  
Unbeaten Sabaragamuwa heads the table with 14 points having won four and drawn two.  

Northern’s Nitharsan leads the Golden Boot tally with six goals.
