Sampath Bank clinch fifth overall at Inter-Firm Team Badminton Championship 2022

Sampath Bank Badminton team secured fifth spot in the annual Inter-Firm Team Badminton Championship 2023 concluded at the Royal College Sports Complex recently.   

Organised by the Mercantile Badminton AssociationSampath Bank’s formidable Badminton Team secured fifth spot on the ranking out of 175 other teams representing 50 firms. This ranking was secured despite participating in a mere total of four events.   

In a milestone victory, the Sampath Bank teams secured the trophy for both the Men’s and Mixed Team Events in Division ‘B’, whilst securing Runner up in the Women’s and Veterans’ events in Division C. Hasitha Chanaka who represented Sampath Bank was selected as the ‘Best Player’ of the ‘B’ Division in both events.   

Sampath Bank places high value in encouraging team members to continue to push their physical health and team building capacities through sport, whilst promoting sport at a corporate level in the country.
