Football Sri Lanka (FSL) plans to hold the Second Four Nations Invitation Football Tournament in June 2024 in Colombo.
FSL has also decided to organise this tournament annually with the aim of giving Sri Lankan football fans the opportunity to see an international-level football tournament in this country.
FSL president Umar Jaswar says that the Maldives, Brunei, and Macau are expected to be invited to the tournament.
Bangladesh, the Maldives, the Seychelles, and Sri Lanka participated in the Mahinda Rajapaksha Trophy Four Nation Invitation Football Tournament organised by FSL for the first time in 2021. The Seychelles won the championship, while Sri Lanka were the runners-up.
Meanwhile, FSL has made arrangements to start National Football Pool training from November 20 onwards to participate in tournaments in 2024, including the Four Nation Tournament.
A national pool consisting of 20 local players has been formed.
