Selection Trial for World Junior Athletics C’ships on July 25

Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) has announced that it will conduct a special selection trial on July 25 at the Sugathadasa Stadium for the World Junior Athletics Championships to be held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The National Junior Athletics Championships could not be held because of the current situation in the country.

As these competitions must be held as per the existing Covid-19 rules, only a select few events will be held as entry standards. Applications will be issued from July 1 and should be sent to “Secretary, Sri Lanka Athletics, 33, Torrington Place, Colombo 07” on or before July 15. Documents proving the performances of the relevant events should be submitted with the application.

Eligibility would be for those born in 2002-2005 while the performance period is from August 01, 2019 to June 30, 2021.
The events are as follows: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 100m / 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and Javelin.
