Sri Lanka's batting all-rounder Shehan Jayasuriya, who is among the players who migrated to USA, is the leading scorer in the Minor League Cricket (MCL) tournament.
Jayasuriya scored 647 runs in 13 innings, at an average of 58.82.
The 30-year-old cricketer is one of four Sri Lankan professionals playing in the MCL in the USA. The other three are Amila Aponso, Angelo Perera and Lahiru Milantha.
Jayasuriya plays for the Silicon Valley Strikers team, which is being led by India's one-time U-19 World Cup winner Unmukt Chand.
Incidentally, Chand (519) and Milantha (511 runs) are in the top ten scorers in the middle of the MCL season. The final will be played this month.
"I am so happy with what I have achieved and also this is a new chapter after I left Sri Lanka. I am so glad to get an opportunity to play here", Milantha said.
Perera is likely to return to Sri Lanka for a few days.
"My wife and a small kid (5 months) are there and I miss them. I will come there for a week to pick them," he said.
As per the ICC rules, the migrated players can play for other national teams after three years.
