The Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association (SLSAA) has decided to conduct the 2022 edition of the Sir John Tarbat Junior and Senior Athletic Championship which was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of the Covid pandemic. However, to accommodate those athletes who missed the event during the last two years, SLSAA has decided to hold Under 23 events during the senior competition.
Points won’t be added to the schools participating in the Under 23 events but they will be awarded certificates.
The SLSAA requested approval from the Education Ministry’s Director of Sports at their first Executive Committee meeting after the election of office-bearers for 2022 to conduct 2022 Sir John Tarbat (Junior and Senior) Athletic Championship.
