South Asian Senior Athletics C’ship to be held in October

The South Asian Athletic Association (SAAA) and Athletic Federation of India (AFI) has planned to hold the South Asian Senior Athletics Championship (SAAC) 2023 in Ranchi City, India.   
 Sri Lanka, India, Maldives and Pakistan have agreed to hold the SAAC according to the SAAA Vice President and Sri Lanka Athletic (SLA) President Major General Palitha Fernando who spoke to Daily Mirror.  There has been no response from Bangladesh,Nepal and Bhutan so far. Once these countries confirm, the South Asian meet will be held in October, he added.   
This is a good opportunity for South Asian athletes for qualify for the 2024 France Olympic Games, said Major General Fernando.   

The SAAC which began in 1997 has been hosted by Sri Lanka and India in Cochin and Ranchi earlier.
