Southern bag NSG hockey title after 12 years

The Southern Province and the Central Province clinched the Men’s and Women’s titles respectively at the 48th National Sports Games (NSG) Inter-Province Hockey Tournament, conducted by the Sports Development Department and the Ministry of Sports held at Welisara.   
The Southern Province won the Gold Medal at the NSG Hockey Tournament after a lapse of 12 years. In the Men’s final, the Southern Province beat the North Western Province and in the Women’s final, the Central Province beat the Western Province.   
Meanwhile, the Central Province and the North Western Province secured the Bronze Medal in the Men’s and Women’s Tournament.   
Meanwhile, Sandaruwan Priyalanka (Southern Province) and Vimukthini Kaluarachchi (Central Province) won the Men’s and Women’s Most Outstanding Player Awards respectively.
