After a five-year hiatus, the SpeedBay Endurance Karting Championship 2024, organised by SpeedBay at Bandaragama, is set to kick-off this weekend.
The championship will feature 14 teams, composed of some of the nation’s most talented karting enthusiasts, competing in a series of rounds starting on July 13, with subsequent events scheduled for September 7 and November 9.
More than just a test of speed, this championship is a strategic ballet of pit stops for driver changes, refuelling manoeuvres and rapid repairs if necessary.
“Endurance Karting challenges drivers to optimise kart performance while highlighting teamwork and strategy. Spectators will witness the nation’s top karting talents in action, showcasing a captivating blend of speed, endurance, and technical skill,” Divisional Manager at David Pieris Group Buddhima Atapattu said.
The six-hour Endurance Karting Championship 2024 is organised by SpeedBay at Bandaragama, owned and maintained by David Pieris Racing and Leisure (Private) Limited and the Ceylon Motor Sports Club.
