Sports Minister approves Junior Athletic Pool

Sports Minister Harin Fernando approved the 34-member junior athletic pool, which was selected by Sri Lanka Athletic (SLA) targeting all major international Under-20 competitions scheduled for this year.   


The Sri Lanka junior athletic pool is studded with 22 men and 12 women.   


The 21st Asian Under-20 Athletic Championships will be held from April 24 to 27 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the World Under-20 Championships is scheduled for August 26 to 31 in Peru, Lima and the South Asian Junior Athletic Championships will be staged from April 12 to 14 in Chennai, India.

Vidushan - Ananda, Colombo (200m and 4x100m), Dineth Induwara – Leeds, Matara (4x100m), Ayesh Mihiranga - Mahinda – (4x100m) Malith Thamel - De Mazenod (200m and 4x100m), Hasindu Nethsara - Lumbini (400m and 4x400m), Praveen Jayathilaka – Thurstan (400m and 4x400m), Ayomal Akalanka - Ambagamuwa MV, Ambagamuwa – (400m and 4x400m), R.
