A quick-fire 56-ball knock of 85, which had 11 boundaries and two sixes by Pavan Ratnayake, supported by useful knocks from Navod Paranavithana, Shevon Daniel, and skipper Ahan Wickramasinghe, paved the way for Sri Lanka Emerging XI to record a comfortable five-wicket win over the visiting Bangladesh Emerging XI’s in the deciding ODI encounter played at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium yesterday.
Sri Lanka Emerging XI, in their run chase of 224 runs, was steered by Ratnayake, who shared two valuable partnerships, both of 81 runs for the second and third wickets, with Daniel and Paranavithana, followed by skipper Wickramasinghe, to race to the target with ease in the 32nd over to clinch the three-match series 2-1.
The two sides will now play the first of the two four days from October 25 to 28 at the same venue.
