Sri Lanka Golf Union Ranking Tournament witnessed an action-packed day three of the competition heated up with remarkable performances and intense rivalries.
K Prabagaran emerged as the standout player, leading the overall leaderboard with a total score of 215. Meanwhile, Haroon Aslam continued to dominate the Amateur division, creating a significant six-shot lead on to the final day.
In the professional division, K. Prabagaran’s consistent game play and precision on the greens put him four shots ahead of the talented Vijitha Bandara and N. Thangarajan, both tied at 219, joint-second on the leaderboard.
The battle for the Amateur title was equally heated up with Aslam firmly retaining his top position. His consistent performance throughout the tournament earned him a total score of 224, capped off by yet another even par round. Aslam’s steady play kept consistent performer in this past tournament’s Reshan Algama at bay, who currently holds the second position with a total score of 231.
As the tournament reaches its climax, all eyes are on Aslam as he heads into the final day with a six-shot lead in the armature division. His remarkable form and calm demeanor on the course will undoubtedly make it a daunting task for Reshan Algama to catch up. Reshan too a player never gives up and the best part comes from in his final stages of the game so he could give a good run to leader Aslam and bring the best out of him on the final day.
The tournament has not only showcased the golfing talent present in the country but also brought together the golfing community in a display of camaraderie and passion for the game.
