Sri Lanka Rugby ties up with Childfund Rugby

In a bid to promote women's rugby in Sri Lanka, SLR (Sri Lanka Rugby) are set to organize the Grassroots to Global Series to be held at the Mandarina Hotel, Colombo at 9.00 a.m. onwards from August 20 to 21. 

The series will be conducted in collaboration with Childfund Rugby - a well-recognized organisation for development promotion, being the main sponsoring body.

While the main objective of this forum is to promote female rugby in Sri Lanka, throughout the programme the development of leadership among women who are engaged in rugby would be given priority. 

Therefore, 25 school Physical Training Instructors (PTI) covering seven different Provinces were given the opportunity to take part in the first ever rugby leadership programme.The PTI were chosen as the participants as it will help to take forward the information to the grassroot level.
