Sri Lanka U-23 footballers leave for Qatar

The Sri Lanka Football Team left for Doha, Qatar yesterday to participate in the AFC Under-23 Qualifying round tournament from October 25 to 31.


Sri Lanka will play against Syria, Yemen and Qatar in Group ‘A’ of this tournament.
The Sri Lanka Team will be led by Sasanga Dilhara of Defenders SC while Asela Madushan of Sea Hawks SC will be his deputy.


Sri Lanka’s opening match will be against Syria on October 25 followed by the clash against Qatar on October 28 and against Yemen on October 31.


The champions of this tournament will qualify to compete in the AFC Asian Championship final round tournament in Uzbekistan.
