The Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) conducted Under-20 seven-a-side rugby tournament 2022 will be worked off at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium on October 1 and 2 with the participation of 24 leading schools. Day two will see the knock out stages in the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield taking place.
Along with Trinity College, St. Thomas’ College, Science College and Zahira College will be missed from this year’s event.
Trinity, the defending champions, will miss out on this year’s event due to the commitment faced by the students with the Advanced Level examinations and have already ended their season.
Trinity won the last event held in 2019 under Reshan Bandaranayake when they edged out St. Peter’s in the Cup final which was played at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekele. Saliya Kumara was the Head Coach of the outfit in 2019.
The 2020 and 2021 tournaments did not take place due to Covid-19 pandemic around the globe.
