The 14th Sri Lanka University Games 2023 conducted by the Sri Lanka University Sports Association (SLUSA) will held from July 15 to September 30.
SLUSA has organised 23 sports beginning with Rugby, Cricket and Rowing in July.
Cricket will be held at the All University grounds and Rowing at the Colombo Rowing Club, Director of Sports University of Kelaniya Saman Kumara Gunawardena told ‘Daily Mirror’.
Cricket, Weightlifting, Basketball, Karate, Wrestling, Elle, Netball, Taekwondo, Chess, Kabbadi, Beach Volleyball, Road Race, Rugby, Swimming, Tennis, Hockey, Rowing, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Carom, Baseball and Athletic are the disciplines at the University Games.
Over 15,000 athletes from 14 universities will be taking part in these games.
The pool for the World University Games 2025 will be selected according to performance at the Sri Lanka University Games 2023. (SP)
