Sri Lanka name 18-member squad for AHF Cup

The Sri Lanka Hockey Federation (SLHF) has selected an 18-member squad and six officials for the Junior AHF Cup Men’s Hockey Tournament from January 6 to 12 in Muscat, Oman.   

A total of six Asian countries will participate in this tournament, conducted by the Asian Hockey Federation.   
Oman, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Indonesia will battle it out in Group ‘A’ while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Uzbekistan will compete in Group ‘B’.   

Sri Lanka will face Uzbekistan in their first match on January 6 and their next two matches will be against Bangladesh on January 7 and Hong Kong on January 9.   

The four top teams of this tournament will qualify to play in the 2023 Asia Cup Hockey Tournament in March, SLHF President G. Vishwanadan said yesterday.
