Sri Lanka out to defend Asian Netball Title

The Sri Lanka Netball Team will leave for India today to participate in the 13th Asian Senior Netball Championship 2024, which will be held from October 18 to 27 at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. 

Veteran Dulangi Wannithilaka will lead the Sri Lanka Netball Team at this event while a vice-captain is yet to be announced. 

In fact, this will be the first time Sri Lanka are competing in a major tournament without the services of a vice-captain. 

 Sri Lanka will be looking to defend the titl having already clinched the title on six occasions.  

Veteran netball coach P. D. N. Prasadi will oversee the Sri Lanka team as they will be vying for honours along with 14 countries.   

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Netball Team met Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya before their departure in Colombo yesterday.    

The Sri Lanka Netball Squad: Dulangi Wannithilaka (Caption), Gayanjalee Amarawansa, Gayani Dissanayaka, 

Thishala Algama, Hasitha Mendis, Rashmi Perera, Shanika Perera, Gayathri Kaushalya, Malmi Hettiarachchi, Suseema Bandara, Sachini Rodrigo and Chalani Neesha.
