Sri Lanka spikers finish 5th in Central Asian Women’s Challenge Cup

Sri Lanka finished  fifth in the Central Asian Women’s Challenge Cup 2023 tournament held with the participation of eight Central Asia countries.
The tournament conducted by the Central Asian Volleyball Association ended in Kathmandu, Nepal yesterday.


Sri Lanka beat Kyrgyztan 3-0 (25-11,25-20,25-14) in the fifth place match of the tournament.


Sri Lanka participated in five matches, losing to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the preliminary round and winning against Maldives.
In the classification round, Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh and Kyrgyztan.


India beat  Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-15,25-22, 25-18) in the final to win the championship.


Kazakastan beat Nepal and India beat Uzbekistan in the semifinal
