Sri Lanka powered their way to a resounding 72-40 victory over Malaysia in their 13th Asian Senior Netball Championship 2024 Group ‘A’ match played at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, India yesterday.

The defending champions clinched the opening quarter 18-11 with a dominant performance and went on to claim a commanding 40-22 lead at the halfway mark.

The six-time champions further consolidated their position by winning the third quarter 15-13 and completely outplayed their opponents 17-5 in the fourth and final quarter.

This was also Sri Lanka’s fifth successive victory in the tournament following their success over the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, India and Japan respectively.

Meanwhile, last year’s runners-up Singapore also maintained their unbeaten record with a smashing 67-42 win over Hong Kong in a Group ‘B’ fixture.

Sri Lanka will face Maldives in their last Group ‘A’ match on Friday after today’s rest day.
